Work
I'm a Software Engineer at Amazon, where I build reliable, scalable distributed systems that power seller fulfillment and performance infrastructure at a global scale.
My work focuses on real-time data processing platforms that handle billions of daily events across 30+ global marketplaces, computing performance metrics and triggering automated enforcement actions that impact thousands of sellers.
Principles
I believe effective engineering organizations are guided by clear values that help teams make better decisions. Here are principles that guide my work:
- Ownership: Take responsibility for outcomes. Build things you'd be proud to show others. Quality compounds over time.
- First principles thinking: Break down complex problems to their fundamentals. Build solutions from the ground up rather than by analogy.
- Systems thinking: Think in systems—understand reinforcing and balancing feedback loops, and how changes propagate through interconnected components. Inspired by Thinking in Systems.
- Values alignment: Aligning on the core requirements and functions of what you're building precedes the actual solution itself. This applies to security, AI systems, and all engineering work. As AI makes writing and testing code easier, the cost of a values gap becomes the dominant factor. We need to be value-aligned with our teams and ensure the systems we create align with us.
- Force multiplication, trust, and velocity: Scale yourself by building tools, automation, and systems that enable others. Document reasoning, share context openly, and create frameworks that multiply team impact. Trust enables velocity.
- Continuous learning: Never stop learning, but evaluate approaches based on merit, not hype or novelty. Invest in understanding fundamentals deeply.
